FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA- The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team hosted Newberry this afternoon in non-conference action. The Wolves got on the board early, scoring seven goals in the first period. They would control the pace of the game the rest of the way and took home a 20-2 victory. With the loss, the Lions fall to 0-5 on the season.
In the first, the Wolves would start the game with two goals in the first few minutes of play to go up, 2-0.
Griffin Gibson-Thomas would respond with 10:45 to play in the first with a goal assisted by
Ryley Dowswell to make it 2-1 Newberry. The Wolves would find the net five more times in the first, to take a 7-1 lead going into the 2
ndperiod.
In the second, the Wolves would score the first three goals of the period to go up 10-1.
Ryland Laturell would net one for the Lions with 8:25 to play in the second to make it 10-2. The Wolves would finish off the second period with three more goals to take a 13-2 lead.
In the third, Newberry would find the next five times to make the score 18-2. The Wolves would tack on two more goals in the fourth to earn a 20-2 victory over the Lions.
