Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Lions Fall to Shorter 16-6

ROME, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Rome, GA to take on Shorter University in non-conference play. The Lions got on the board first, but Shorter responded and controlled the pace of the game the rest of the way taking the game 16-6. With the loss, the Lions fall to 0-6 on the season. 
 
In the first quarter, Ryland Laturell got things started for Emmanuel with a goal with 13:25 to play in the quarter to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Shorter would go onto score the next three goals to go up, 3-1 to end the first quarter.
 
The Lions started strong in the second quarter with a goal by Luke Hildebrandt with 9:03 to play to cut the Hawks lead to 3-2. With 8:45 to play in the second, John Allen would tie things up for Emmanuel on a goal assisted by Jared Weiss to make it 3-3. The Eagles would go onto score the next three goals to go up 6-3. 
 
In the third, the Hawks would continue their momentum in scoring the first three goals of the quarter to go up 9-3. Tanner Park would answer back for the Lions with a goal with 8:02 to play, assisted by Weiss to make it 9-4 Shorter. The Hawks would score the last two goals of the quarter to go up 11-4. 
 
In the fourth, Griffin Gibson-Thomas would find net for the Lions with 13:54 to play, assisted by Hildebrandt to make it 11-5 Shorter. The Hawks would net the next two to take a 13-5 lead. Ryley Dowswell would get into the action with 8:47 to play with a goal assisted by Hildebrandt to make it 13-6. Shorter would close out the game with three more goals to take a 16-6 victory.
 
Next up, the Lions will host the University of Montevallo on Saturday, March 9 at 1PM.
