Box Score Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team hosted the University Montevallo today in non-conference action. The Falcons got off to a fast start and controlled the pace of the game throughout, taking home a 25-8 win. With the loss, the Lions fall to 0-7 on the season.
The Falcons got on the board first, scoring the first three goals to go up 3-0. The Lions answered back with a goal by
Ryland Laturell with with 11:41 to play in the period, assisted by
Ryley Dowswell to make it 3-1, Falcons.
Jared Weiss tacked on another goal for the Lions less than a second later, assisted by Laturell to make it 3-2, Falcons. The Falcons would net the next six goals to take a 9-2 lead.
Tanner Park would answer back for the Lions with 4:53 to play, assisted by Weiss to make it 9-3 in favor of Montevallo. The Falcons closed out the period with a goal to go up 10-3.
In the second, the Falcons kept their momentum going, scoring the first five goals to go up 15-3.
Tanner Park would score with 7:11 to play in the period, assisted by
Luke Hildebrandt to make it 15-4. Laturell tacked on a goal for the home team to make it 15-5 with 4:57 to play in the period, assisted by Dowswell. The Falcons would close out the period adding two goals to their lead to make it 17-5.
In the third period, the Falcons scored six straight goals to go up 23-5.
Griffin Gibson-Thomas would grab a goal for the Lions with 1:15 to play in the period, assisted by Laturell to make it 23-6.
In the final period, the Falcons scored the first two goals to take a 25-6 lead, but Emmanuel responded. Weiss would score with 3:55 to play, assisted by Park to make it 25-7 and
Tanner Park followed that up with a goal with 47 seconds left to play, assisted by Laturell to make the final score 25-8.
Next up, the Lions will host Saint Leo University on Saturday, March 16 at 2PM.
