Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Lions Defeat Talladega College 3-0!

TALLADEGA, AL - The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball team traveled to Talladega, AL to face Talladega College tonight in non-conference action. The Lions won the first set in a nail-biting fashion, 25-23, before taking sets two and three, 25-17, 25-17. With the win, the Lions improve to 6-14 on the season.
 
In the first set, the Lions got off to a slow start with the Tornados taking an early 7-3 lead. The Lions would mount a comeback and take the lead, 11-10 on a kill by Aidan Feeney. The set saw multiple ties and lead changes, but the Lions ultimately closed out the set outscoring the Tornados 8-6 to take the set, 25-23. 
 
In set two, the Lions got off to a 4-1 start. Emmanuel kept the lead throughout the set, getting up by as much as seven, on a kill by Andrew Michael that made it 21-14, Lions. The Lions would close out the set strong and win it 25-17. 
 
The third set saw seven ties and four lead changes. The teams traded points to start the set, before the Lions took the lead for good after forcing an attack error to make it 14-13. The Lions would go on a 6-1 run to take a 20-14 lead and would go onto take the set 25-17. 
 
Overall, the Lions had 41 kills, 3 aces, 10 blocks, 39 assists and 24 digs. 
 
Eli Zdonek led the way with 10 kills, with Aidan Feeney contributing 8 on the night and Andrew Michael adding 7. Zdonek had two of Emmanuel's three aces with Noah Langelier adding one. The Lions had a block party with Michael tallying 5, Abdallah Roshdy contributing 4 and Feeney, 2.  Roshdy led the team in assists with 31 and Nicklas Eichenberger leading the Lions with 10 digs.
