SUMTER, SC – The Emmanuel Women's Tennis team faced Converse University in the first round of the Conference Carolinas tournament hosted at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, SC. Converse got off to an early lead, narrowly defeating the Lions in the doubles point, but the Lions would take 4 of 6 singles matches to earn a 4-3 victory and move on in the tournament. With the win, the Lions now sit at 9-10 on the season.

2. At #2 Doubles, K. Kharb/N. White (CON) def. Tawana Senah/Shatavisa Ghosh (EU) 6-0. 
3. At #3 Doubles, Zyanya Rogel/Alejandra Guerrero (EU) def. S. Giraldo-Jimenez/A. Trace (CON) 7-6. 

 
SINGLES PLAY 

1. At #1 Singles, Alejandra Guerrero (EU) def. T. Glogowski-Watson (CON) 6-4, 6-4. 
2. At #2 Singles, K. Kharb (CON) def. Soleny Gonzales (EU) 6-1, 6-3. 
3. At #3 Singles, Shatavisa Ghosh (EU) def. N. White (CON) 6-1, 6-1. 
4. At #4 Singles, Sabina Roua (EU) def. S. Giraldo-Jimenez (CON) 6-3, 6-4. 
5. At #5 Singles, L. Martins (CON) def. Anna Goncalves (EU) 6-0, 6-2. 
6. At #6 Singles, Victoria Rodriguez (EU) def. L. Maynor (CON) in three sets, winning the first 6-4, dropping the second, 6-1, and taking the third, 6-1. 

 
With the win, the Lions moved onto face Belmont Abbey in round two which began at 6PM.
