Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Lady Lions Soccer team were back on the pitch this afternoon as they hosted the Shorter University Hawks. The Lions got off to a quick start with a goal by
Brianna Nguyen and the Lions controlled the momentum the rest of the way to win, 3-0. With the win, the Lions improve to 1-5 on the season, 1-2 in conference.
Brianna Nguyen got the Lions on the board with a goal at the 24:59 mark, assisted by
Shania Wegesend to make it 1-0, Emmanuel. With five minutes to play in the half,
Kate-Lynn Jimenez added onto the Lions lead, to make it 2-0, assisted by
Sydne Stoker and
Elizabeth Barnhart.
The Lions continued to control the pace of the game in the second half. At the 77:59 mark,
Kate-Lynn Jimenez found the net for her second time of the afternoon to give the Lions a 3-0 lead.
The Lions outshot the Hawks 14-1.
