Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Lions Defeat King 3-0

Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Volleyball team welcomed the King University Tornado to the Lions Den today for some Conference Carolinas action. The Lions got off to a quick start, taking the first set 25-16. Emmanuel continued to control the momentum of the game, taking the second set 25-19 and the third, 25-5. With the win, the Lions improve to 6-6 overall and 3-0 in conference play. 
 
In the first set, the Lions got off to a quick start with a 4-0 run to take a 5-1 lead. The Tornado would respond with a run of their own to take a 10-9 lead midway through the set. The Lions would answer back with a 10-1 run to make it 20-11. The Lions would control the set the rest of the way to take it 25-16. 
 
In the second set, the teams traded points early until the Lions used a 6-0 run to take the lead, 15-10 on a kill by Ellie Jackson. The Tornado would get within four points of the lead, but the Lions would close out the set strong to win it, 25-19. 
 
The Lions controlled the third set from the start. Emmanuel started things off with a 6-0 run to take the lead. The Lions would hold the Tornado to five points in the set and collected 14 kills. The Lions took the set, 25-5 and the game, 3-0. 
 
Overall, the Lions had 45 kills, 4 aces, 7 blocks, 42 assists and 43 digs. Senior, Emily Hanson had a milestone day, collecting her 300th career block and 1,000th career kill. 
 
Ellie Jackson led the way with 15 kills on the day. Isabel Miller collected two aces at the service line and Cailin Pritchard led the way with four blocks. Sami Gambill had 21 assists on the day and Asia Queen added 16 digs.
