LAKEWOOD, CO – The Emmanuel Men's Soccer team finished off their trip out west with a game against Colorado Christian University. The game was competitive with the teams evenly matched, but in the end a late goal by the Cougers left the game knotted in a tie, 2-2. With the tie, the Lions record now stands at 1-0-1.
Nathan Walker got things started for the Lions in the first half with a score at the 33:07 mark to give Emmanuel a 1-0 lead. The Cougers would respond six minutes later with a goal of their own to knot things at 1-1.
The second half continued to be a defensive battle, with neither team finding the net until Emmanuel's
Emiliano Meza Eboli scored his first career goal in the 79
th minute. The Lions held onto the lead until the final minute of play when the Cougers tied things back up at 2-2, which would be the final score.
The Lions and Cougers each took 8 shots, with the Lions landing 4 shots on goal compared to 3 for Colorado Christian.
Up next, the Lions will host Belmont Abbey at home on Saturday at 7PM in their first conference matchup of the season.
