Young Harris, GA- The Emmanuel Men's Soccer team traveled to Young Harris, GA tonight to take on the Young Harris College Mountain Lions in conference action. Emmanuel took the early lead, but the Mountain Lions responded quickly and took the lead in the 2
nd half to earn the 6-2 victory. With the loss, the Lions drop to 2-6-1 overall, 2-3-1 in conference action. With the win, Young Harris takes the 3-2 lead in the Roar War rivalry.
Sergio Aspas got things started for the Lions with a goal at 19:14 assisted by
Nathan Walker to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Young Harris responded quickly with a goal two minutes later to tie things at 1-1. The Mountain Lions took the lead in the 25
th minute to take a 2-1 lead into the break. The Mountain Lions outshot the Lions 5-3 in the half with 3 shots on goal.
The second half saw the Mountain Lions take control of the game, adding three goals to their lead to make it 5-1. The Lions cut the Young Harris lead to 5-2 with a goal by
Ignacio Doldan at the 82:48 mark but the Mountain Lions responded immediately to make it 6-2 which was the final score. Young Harris outshot the Lions 11-4 in the 2
nd half with 8 shots on goal.
Next, the Lions will travel to Rome, GA to take on Shorter University in a conference matchup at 7PM on Saturday.
