Young Harris, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team traveled to Young Harris, GA for their second meeting with the Young Harris Mountain Lions in the Roar War rivalry. The Mountain Lions took the lead early and controlled the pace of the game the rest of the way to earn a 5-0 victory, tying the Roar War standings at 2-2. With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-6 on the season, 2-4 in conference action.
The Mountain Lions took the lead early netting their first goal in the 5
th minute of play to go up 1-0. Young Harris would tack on four more scores in the 1
st half of play to take a 5-0 lead heading into the break.
In the 2
nd half, the Lions adjusted defensively and held the Mountain Lions scoreless. Ana Ramirez Cortez ended the night with 5 saves in goal with
Veronica Calixto and
Emily Chavez each taking a shot on goal.
Next up, the Lions will travel to Rome, GA to take on the Shorter Hawks in conference action on Saturday at 4:30PM.
