DUE WEST, SC – The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team traveled to Due West, SC this afternoon to face the Erskine College Flying Fleet in conference play. The Lions jumped out ahead 2-0 heading into the break and controlled the pace of the game the rest of the way to take home a 4-0 victory. With the win, the Lions move to 4-6-2 overall, 4-4-1 in conference action.

Brianna Nguyen got things started for the Lions with a goal at 16:31, assisted by Reagan Hill to give the Lions a 1-0 lead early. Jimena Rivera added to the Lions lead at 33:01, assisted by Ires Tania to make it 2-0 heading into the break. In the first half, the Lions outshot the Flying Fleet, 10-4 with 4 shots on goal. 

The second half started off as a defensive battle, with neither team finding the net. Nguyen broke through for the Lions at the 74:05 mark to make it 3-0, Lions. Emily Chavez closed out the game with a score at 84:52, assisted by Jillian Aldrich to make the final score, 4-0, Emmanuel. In the half, the Lions outshot Erskine 11-6 with 7 shots on goal. Emmanuel goalkeeper, Ana Ramirez Cortez had one save on the night to earn the shutout. 

Next up, the Lions will travel to Mount Olive, NC to face the University of Mount Olive Trojans on Saturday at 1PM.
