Dahlonega, GA – The Emmanuel Softball team continued action this afternoon at the University of North Georgia tournament with a matchup against host, North Georgia. The Nighthawk got off to a strong start and earned an 8-0 victory. With the loss, the Lions move to 1-6 on the season.
After a scoreless first inning, the Nighthawk scored 2 runs on 1 hit in the bottom of the 2
nd to take a 2-0 lead.
The Nighthawk got back to work in the bottom of the 4
th with 4 runs on 3 hits and 1 error to take a 6-0 lead.
North Georgia added 2 runs on 3 hits in the bottom of the 6
th to go up 8-0 which would be the final score.
At the plate,
Ellee Varner led the way going 1-2. On the mound,
Carly Forrester got the start throwing 3.1 innings. She gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 3 hits and walked 5 batters.
Cassidy Jenkins relieved her to pitch 1.2 innings. She gave up 2 runs on 3 hits.
Reagan Garrett closed the game out for the Lions, facing 5 batters and giving up 1 run on 2 hits.
The Lions will be back in action tomorrow with games at 3 & 5PM.
