Dahlonega, GA – The Emmanuel Softball team traveled to Dahlonega, GA today to take part in a tournament hosted by the University of North Georgia. The Lions opened things up with a game against Emory & Henry this afternoon. The Wasps took an early lead and held on to win, 5-0. With the loss, the Lions fall to 1-5 on the season.
Emory & Henry got things started with a homerun in the bottom of the 2
nd to take a 1-0 lead.
The two teams were scoreless until the Wasps struck again with a grandslam in the bottom of the 3
rd to make it 5-0, which would be the final score.
At the plate,
Abby Rocco and
Gabby Buffington recorded a hit. On the mound,
Reagan Garrett got the nod, going 2.1 innings. She gave up 5 runs on 6 hits.
Cassidy Jenkins relieved her to pitch 3.2 innings. She struck out 2 batters and did not give up a hit.
