Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Baseball team hosted Montevallo tonight in non-conference action. The Falcons jumped out to an early lead, scoring 4 runs in the 2
nd inning and held on to earn an 8-2 win. With the loss, the Lions fall to 14-18 on the season.
The Falcons opened up the scoring in the top of the 1
st inning scoring a run on an error to take a 1-0 lead. 
Montevallo added 4 runs to their lead in the top of the 2
nd on 4 hits to make it 5-0. The Lions responded in the bottom half of the inning. 
Zachary Bergstrom and 
Tyler Bradford walked to start things off. 
Dee Oliver hit into a double play, with Bergstrom getting thrown out at 2
nd. Bradford advanced to 2
nd on a balk, and 
Dobbs Bowden singled to center field to bring him home, making it 5-1, Falcons. 
The score stayed the same until 7
th inning when Montevallo added a run to their lead on 2 hits to take a 6-1 lead. The Lions responded in the bottom of the 7
th. 
Tyler Bradford was hit by a pitch to start off the at-bat. 
Austin Bourrie came in as a pinch runner and scored on a triple by 
Dobbs Bowden to make it 6-2, Falcons. 
In the top of the 9
th the Falcons scored 2 runs on 4 hits to make it 8-2 which would be the final score.
At the plate, 
Dobbs Bowden went 2-3 with 2 RBI's and a triple.
On the mound, 
Jake Renuart got the start going 2.0 innings. He gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 4 hits and struck out one batter. 
Noah Olson came in next, pitching 3.0 innings. He gave up 2 hits, walking 3 batters and striking out 5. 
Will Sherman relieved him to pitch 2.0 innings. He gave up a run on 2 hits and struck out a batter. 
JJ Neal came in for an inning, with the Falcons going three up and three down. 
Bubba Luke came in next to throw .2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits.
