Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Baseball team hosted UNC Pembroke this weekend in a 3-game conference series. The Lions got off to a strong start, earning an 8-1 victory in game one. The Lions followed that up with a 3-0 win in game two and a 4-1 game three win to earn the sweep. With the series win, the Lions move to 17-18 on the season, 10-11 in conference action. 
GAME ONE 
It was a pitcher's duel to start game one, with three scoreless innings. The Braves jumped out in front with a solo homerun in the top of the 4
th to go up 1-0. 
 The score remained that way until the bottom of the 6
th. 
Landon Mokris got things started for the Lions with a triple to left center. 
Nick Madrigal followed that up with a double to right field to score Mokris, tying the game at 1-1. 
The Lions bats got back to work in the bottom of the 7
th. 
Dobbs Bowden walked to start the inning, with 
Ryan Muniz getting hit by a pitch. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch, with Bowden scoring to make it 2-1 Lions. 
Jesus Cruz was hit by a pitch and 
Brock Wollin walked to load the bases. Mokris singled to left to score 2 runs, making it 4-1 Lions and 
Hayden Beall followed that up with a single to load the bases. Madrigal reached on a fielder's choice to score Wollin, with Mokris getting thrown out at third to make it 5-1, Lions. A single by 
Tyler Bradford scored Madrigal and Beall to give the Lions a 7-1 lead. 
Austin Bourrie came in to pinch run for Bradford and he scored on a sacrifice fly to give the Lions an 8-1 lead. 
Both teams would threaten to score more runs but the Lions would hold on to win, 8-1.
At the plate, 
Landon Mokris went 3-5 with 2 RBI's. 
On the mound, 
Noah Cantleberry got the start. He went 8.1 innings and gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 5 batters and walked 3. 
Hunter Parks relieved him to face two batters, striking both out. 
GAME TWO 
The Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1
st. 
Brock Wollin started things off with a single to shortstop and 
Landon Mokris homered to left field to score two runs, giving the Lions a 2-0 lead. 
Both teams threatened to get a run across but weren't able to until the Lions got back on the board in the bottom of the 5
th. 
Jesus Cruz walked to start off the at-bat. Mokris singled down the right field line to advance Cruz to 3
rd and 
Hayden Beall hit into a fielder's choice, with Mokris getting thrown out at 2
nd and Cruz scoring on the play to make it 3-0, Lions which would be the final score. 
At the plate, 
Landon Mokris was 2-3 with 2 RBI's and a run scored.
On the mound, 
Hunter Pirkle threw a complete game. He gave up 6 hits, walked 2 batters but struck out 3 to move to 4-4 on the season. 
GAME THREE
The Braves got on the board first in game 3, scoring a run on 2 hits to go up 1-0. 
The score stayed this way until the bottom of the 5
th inning when the Lions bats got hot. 
Dee Oliver singled to start the at-bat. 
Ryan Muniz reached on a fielder's choice with Oliver getting thrown out at 2
nd. Cruz walked to put runners on 1
st and 2
nd, and 
Brock Wollin singled to left field to score Muniz, tying the game at 1-1. 
In the bottom of the 6
th, the Lions got back to work. 
Hayden Beall walked to start the at-bat on base. 
Zachary Bergstrom hit into a fielder's choice with Beall getting thrown out at 2
nd. 
Tyler Bradford singled to left field to advance Bergstrom to 2
nd and 
Dobbs Bowden hit a single to centerfield to score Bradford and Bergstrom, giving the Lions a 3-1 lead. 
Bergstrom hit a homerun in the bottom of the 8
th to add a run to the Lions lead, making the final score 4-1. 
At the plate, 
Zachary Bergstrom went 2-4, with 2 runs scored and an RBI. 
On the mound, 
Brayden Pooler got the start. He went 4.0 innings and gave up 1 run on 3 hits, striking out a batter. 
Zach Evans earned the win, going 3.0 innings. He gave up 1 hit and struck out 4 batters. 
Hunter Parks closed out the game, going 2.0 innings. He gave up 3 hits and struck out a batter.
The Lions will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Augusta to take on Augusta University at 4PM,
