Franklin Springs, Ga – The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team hosted North Greenville this afternoon in their first conference matchup of the 2025 season. The Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Trailblazers took the lead and pushed it to 19-8 at the half. The second half was all Trailblazers, as they finished the contest strong to earn a 29-18 victory. With the loss, the Lions fall to 3-3 on the season, 0-1 in conference action.
The Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead to start the first quarter.
Luke Hildebrandt found the net first at the 13:46 mark to make it 1-0, Lions and
Ryland Laturell followed that up with a goal at 13:20 to bring the score to 2-0, Lions. The Trailblazers responded to score the next six to go up 6-2. The Lions responded to make it 6-3 on a goal by
Tanner Park at 8:01 in the first, assisted by
Jared Weiss. The Trailblazers answered back to bring their lead to 7-3, but the Lions closed out the quarter strong. Griffin Gibson-Thoms found the net at the 6:37 mark to make it 7-4 then L. Hildebrandt scored his second of the afternoon with 5:57 to play in the quarter to make it 7-5, assisted by Weiss. Park scored his second of the day with 5:02 to play in the first, assisted by Weiss to make it 7-6, Trailblazers but North Greenville answered back to make it 8-6 to end the quarter.
The Trailblazers scored the first five goals in the 2
nd quarter to go up 13-6. The Lions responded with a goal by Weiss, assisted by L. Hildebrandt at the 11:47 mark to make it 13-7. The Trailblazers grabbed the next four goals to go up 17-7 with 8:26 to play in the 2
nd. L. Hildebrandt scored his 3
rd of the day with 4:52 to play to make it 17-8. The Trailblazers closed out the 2
nd quarter scoring the final two goals to go up 19-8.
The Lions started the 3rd quarter strong offensively with back-to-back goals.
Cole Stachniak found the net first with 14:21 to play, assisted by Laturell to make it 19-9, Trailblazers.
Joshua Fodchuk scored with 11:39 to play to cut North Greenville's lead to 19-10. The Trailblazers scored the next two goals to go up 21-10, but L. Hildebrandt grabbed a goal with 7:59 to play in the quarter, assisted by Fodchuk to make it 21-11. A goal by North Greenville made it 22-11, but
Ryland Laturell answered with 4:02 to play in the 3
rd to make it 22-12. The Trailblazers scored twice more to make it 24-12, but Fodchuk found the net with 45 seconds to play in the 3
rdto make it 24-13.
In the final quarter of play, the Lions scored the first four to cut into the Trailblazer's lead. Weiss scored first with 13:02 to play, assisted by Gibson-Thomas to make it 24-14. With 12:03 to play,
Everett Muratori found the net to cut the lead to 24-15. Weiss scored again with 10:20 to go to make it 24-16 and L. Hildebrandt grabbed his 5
th of the day with 7:26 to play to make it 24-17. The Trailblazers responded by going on a 5-0 run to make it 29-17. Hildebrandt closed things out with a goal with 33 seconds to play to make the final score 29-18, North Greenville.
Luke Hildebrandt led the Lions with six goals on the day, with
Jared Weiss contributing 3. Weiss had 3 assists on the afternoon, with
Ryland Laturell adding 2.
Grady Magruder ended the night with 16 saves.
