Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Soccer team hosted Barton College this afternoon in conference play. It was a defensive battle from the start, with both teams making plays, but neither finding the net. The game ended in a 0-0 draw. With the draw, the Lions improve to 2-5-1 on the season, 2-2-1 in conference action.
The first half started out as a defensive battle, with the Bulldogs outshooting the Lions 7-3, leading the Lions 2-1 in shots on goal. The lone shot on goal from the Lions came from
Rezhis Koxhaj in the 16
th minute of play. Goalkeeper,
Quincy Howard ended the half with 2 saves, to make it 0-0 heading into the break.
After the break, the Lions came out with offensive adjustments, outshooting the Bulldogs 10-7, with a shot on goal. Howard added 2 more saves to his total in the 2
nd half to give him a total of 4 saves in the game. Both teams made key plays in the half, but neither found the net and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Next up, the Lions will travel to Young Harris, GA for their second matchup of the Roar War with Young Harris College on Wednesday at 7PM.
