Box Score The Emmanuel University Men's Soccer team battled through a competitive match-up against Shorter University, coming away with a hard-fought 1-0 victory. In a game where every opportunity mattered, the Lions capitalized on a first-half breakthrough and held their ground to secure the shutout.

Emmanuel found the opening in the 27th minute when John Ruetschle put the ball in the back of the net off an assist from Enzo Joly and Eli Cooling. The goal gave the Lions a 1-0 advantage and proved to be the difference in such a competitive match.

Despite the early lead, the Lions had to remain composed as the game continued. Both teams battled for control, with Emmanuel working to maintain its advantage while continuing to search for opportunities to extend the lead.

Emmanuel's offense remained active throughout the contest, with 26 total shots, including eight on goal. The Lions generated 13 shots in each half, demonstrating consistent attacking pressure from start to finish.

The Lions also relied on goalkeeper, Edouard Laberge to come through when needed, recording four saves across the two halves. In a match where one goal separated the two sides, the Lions did enough to protect their advantage and walk away with a hard-earned victory to move to 6-6-1 on the season, 6-4 in conference play. 

The Lions will be back on the home pitch Saturday at 5PM with a conference matchup against Young Harris.
