FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.---The Emmanuel College softball team swept an SSAC conference doubleheader over Brewton Parker College Saturday afternoon in the Springs.

EC won game on 6-3 over the Barons before winning game two 5-4.

In game one, it was a four-run 1st inning that gave the Lions an early advantage. Pitcher Leah Ritchhart (JR/Orlando, FL) threw a gem of a game throwing all 7 innings allowing just 3 hits while striking out three Barons. At the plate it was Kalen Calloway going 1 for 3 (double) with 2 RBIs andHayden Bartlett (JR/Fayetteville, GA) going 1-2 with 2 RBIs to pace the Lions.

Again in game two, it was a big four-run 4th inning that gave the Lions the needed runs for the victory. Kara Hembree (SO/Lawrenceville, GA) went 2 for 4 at the plate driving in 4 runs while pitcher Kalen Calloway pitched six innings allowing just 4 hits and recording 4 strikeouts. Leah Ritchhart pitched the final inning collecting the save.

EC will be back on their home diamond on April 8 as the Brenau Golden Tigers visit the Springs for another SSAC softball doubleheader. First pitch is at 5 p.m.
