Box Score Buena Vista, VA – The Lady Lions went to Southern Virginia University for their fourth victory in this season. They did not give Southern Virginia University a chance, playing a superior and consistent game. The Lady Lions have an impressive campaign playing away with 3 victories and just 1 loss.
The Lions came out strong since the beginning, scoring their first goal 28 seconds at the start. In the first half, The Lady lions put 4 goals on advantage. In the second half, they continued their amazing job scoring 8 more goals and finishing the game with 16 against 6. The Lady Lions had two yellow cards issued, one in the first half to Allie Brock and one in the second half to Emily Oliver. Also, the Lady Lions dominated draw controls by commanding 17 out of 24 during the game.
On the offensive front, Lara Russell led the Lady Lions with 6 goals. Allie Brock contributed 4 goals, Tara Larson contributed 3 goals and , Katie McCall, Hanna Hernandez and Katiana Aguilar contributed one goal each. Hanna Hernandez led the team with 4 assists, and Kamaia Gaylen led with 4 groundballs. Tara Larson had 7 out of the 17 draw controls for the Lady Lions.
In the goal for the entire 60 minutes, sophomore Tiana Machado had 8 saves out of 14 shots taken. The team had an impressive number of clears, they successfully completed 11-12 clears.
The Lady Lions will be back in action on Saturday, March 11th at 1:00 PM at Ferrum College.
