Box Score MOUNT OLIVE, NC – The Emmanuel Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Mount Olive, NC tonight to compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship semifinal against #1 seed, Mount Olive. The two teams battled early, but the Trojans took the lead late in the 1
st quarter and controlled the pace of the game the rest of the way, earning a 21-5 victory. With the win, the Lions end the season with a 9-8 record.
The Lions got the scoring started with a goal by
Kristie Fisher, assisted by
Taylor Schubert with 8:30 to play in the 1
st, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead. The Trojans scored the next 2 to take a 2-1 lead, but the Lions responded with a goal by
Demi Czynski to make it 2-2. The Trojans closed out the quarter on a 3-0 run to take a 5-2 lead into the 2
nd quarter.
The Trojans scored first in the 2
nd to take a 6-2 lead, but the Lions answered with a goal by Czynski to make it 6-3. The Trojans scored the next two to make it 8-3, but
Mikaela Austin answered with a goal to cut the Trojans lead to 8-4. The Trojans closed out the half on a 2-0 scoring run to take a 10-4 lead into the half.
Meghan Jennings scored the first goal in the 3
rd quarter, assisted by Czynski to make it 10-5, Trojans but Mount Olive closed out the quarter on a 7-0 run to take a 17-5 lead into the 4
th quarter.
The Trojans scored the final four goals of the game to earn a 21-5 victory.
Demi Czynski led the Lions with 2 goals on the night, with Czynski and
Taylor Schubert each picking up an assist.
