Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team defeated conference opponent Southern Wesleyan University, 74-63, on Wednesday night. This win brings the Lions record to 10-5 overall, 5-3 conference.
The Lions were off to a hot start, putting up 22 points compared to the Warriors 9 in the first quarter. Senior Lochlain Corliss led the field with 10 points in the quarter. The Warriors drastically improved their field goal percentage in the second quarter with 19 points, closing the gap to 36-28 heading into halftime.
Upon returning to the court, Senior Taylor Delasbour pitched in 11 more points while Sophomore Hanna Grogan hit both of her three-point attempts to boost their lead in their highest scoring quarter of the game. Halfway through the quarter, Emmanuel had their largest lead of the night at 49-33. The Lions continued their run into the fourth, cruising to a 74-63 victory.
Corliss led all players with 21 points while Grogan and Delasbour tallied 15 and 14 points respectively. Junior Ajah Taylor totaled 10 rebounds.
Next up, the Lions will take on conference opponent Barton College at home on Saturday, January 19th at 2:00pm.
