FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team defeated conference opponent Erskine College on Tuesday night, 54-52. This win brings the Lions record to 17-6 overall, 12-4 in conference.

Shooting just 17.9% from the floor in the first half, the ladies struggled to make moves while they trailed behind the Fleet for almost the entire night. The lions only put up 18 combined points in the first half, placing themselves at a seven point deficit.

In the third quarter the Lions began to gain momentum as they outscored their opponent for the first time of the night. Delasbour, Grogan and Corliss combined for 15 points to lessen the Fleet's lead to, 37-33. Finally, with seven minutes remaining, Emmanuel would take the lead with a three-pointer from Sophomore Breanna Locke. It would be short lived, however, as Erskine's Emani Bell responded with a three-pointer of her own. The Fleet would hold the lead until a layup from Locke would tie up the game at 52-52 with 35 seconds left on the clock. With just 1 second remaining, Sophomore Hanna Grogan was fouled and took advantage by connecting both of her shots, affording the Lions the win, 54-52.

Next up, the Lions will head to Limestone College on Saturday, February 16th. In their previous matchup, the Lions fell 74-70.

The Lions were led by Breanna Locke with 14 points.
