Box Score

ANDERSON, S.C.- The Emmanuel College women's basketball teams historic run ended on Friday afternoon with a 91-53 loss to No. 2 ranked North Georgia in the NCAA DII Southeast Quarterfinals.

After clinching the Conference Carolinas Championship, the Lady Lions earned an automatic bid into the National Tournament as the No. 7 seed. The ladies were paired against southeast powerhouse NGU in the opening round.

The Nighthawks immediately made it clear that they were championship contenders after posting over twice as many points as the Lions in the opening half and accumulating a 56.3 field goal percentage. Senior Taylor Delasbour put up double digits before halftime, but the strong Nighthawk defense held the Lions to just 22 total points after 20 minutes of play.

In the second half, the Lions improved on their rebounds while decreasing their turnovers to improve their scoring to a combined 31 points. Despite their stronger performance, the Lions were still outscored by their opponent, allowing NGU the victory, 91-53.

With this loss, the Lady Lions season comes to an end. The team finished with one of their most successful seasons in program history with a .774 win percentage while claiming the Conference Carolinas Championship. Congratulations to the ladies on a successful year!
