Box Score

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga - The Emmanuel College women's basketball returned from their Christmas break with a win over conference opponent North Greenville University, 72-61. The victory moved the Lions to 8-3 overall and 5-0 in conference.

Emmanuel took control of the game early on, building a double digit lead in the first quarter, 22-10. The Lions continued to outscore the Crusaders in the second quarter, going into halftime leading 41-22.

The Crusaders managed to outscore the Lions in both the third and fourth quarters. However, they were never able to fully recover from Emmanuel's dominate first half performance.

Junior Breanna Locke and senior Ajah Taylor led the way for the Lions. Locke finished with 19 points and 9 rebounds, while Taylor had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Emmanuel lost the turnover battle, giving up 17 turnovers while only forcing 15 from North Greenville. However, the Lions made up for this by outshooting the Crusaders in field goals, 3 pointers, and free throws.

Next up, women's basketball will take on Chowan on Saturday, January 4th.
