Lady Lions Conquer Crusaders, 71-56

TIGERVILLE, SC - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team took on conference rival North Greenville University on Wednesday night. The Lions took down the Crusaders 71-56, moving their record to 12-6 overall and 9-3 in conference. 
 
Emmanuel took the lead early on, gaining a 6 point lead that they held on to throughout the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Lions remained on top but the Crusaders consistently hung within reach. By the end of the first half, the Lions led by 4 points, 33-29. 
 
The Crusaders tied the game early in the third quarter, but the Lions didn't allow them to take the lead. By the end of the third quarter, Emmanuel was still on top, 52-44. The Lions pulled further ahead in the final 10 minutes of play, eventually winning by 15 points, 71-56. 
 
Junior Breanna Locke led the way for the Lions with 23 points. Senior Ajah Taylor followed with a double-double that included 15 points and 12 rebounds. 
 
Next up, women's basketball will take on Barton College in the Shaw Athletic Center on Saturday, January 25 at 2:00pm.
