AIKEN, S.C. - The Emmanuel College softball team split their doubleheader with USA Aiken on Saturday afternoon.

Game #1

EC recorded 6 hits, 2 RBI's and 2 runs. Noelle Petty had two singles, while Maret McCall, Lexie Tallent, Abbey Sims, and Ryanne White each picked up a single apiece. White and Petty each had an RBI in the top of the fourth to account for EC's two runs. 

Madison Abell faced 25 batters in 5 innings while striking out 2 batters and allowing 9 hits, 7 runs, and no walks.

The Lions trailed the Pacers all game as they put up 7 runs by the third inning.

Game #2

The Lions had 9 hits with Ally Harris, Lexie Tallent, Abbey Sims, and Mackensie Hogan each recording a single. McCall Maret had a single and double, and Caitlin Parks picked up three singles. Maret brought in 4 runners while Tallent, Parks, and Kaylan Pruitt each had 1 RBI.

Sloan Hammons faced 28 batters in 6 innings, striking out 1 batter and allowing 5 hits, 1 run, and 4 walks.

After scoring two runs in the top of the second inning, the Lions never looked back. EC would build an 8-0 lead before the Pacers responded too late in the 6th and 7th innings. The Lions would take game #2 8-3.

Next up, EC will face off with Augusta University tomorrow at 9am and 11am.
