BELMONT, N.C. - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team was defeated by conference opponent Belmont Abbey College 82-61 on Wednesday night. This loss brings the Lions record to 17-9 overall, 14-6 in conference.

After exchanging points in the first quarter, the Crusaders knocked down a last minute three pointer to steal the lead. Belmont Abbey continued to build their lead and never allowed EC to catch up. The Crusaders posted a 49.2% field goal percentage including 45.8% from beyond the arc. The Lions trailed behind while shooting 34.5%.

Three Lions hit double-digits with Breanna Locke leading the pack with another double-double 20 points and 11 rebounds. Ajah Taylor totaled 14 points while Brooke Whitaker finished the night with 10 points.

Next up, the Lions take on Converse College on Saturday, February 22nd.
