GAME #1
The Lions recorded 17 runs, 18 hits, 16 RBI's and Drew 1 walk. EC softball had their best hitting of the season with 5 homeruns including 2 from Lexie Tallent, and 1 apiece for McCall Maret, Ryanne White, and Noelle Petty. Maret and Mackensie Hogan both had a double, while Ally Harris, Tallent, Caitlin Parks, Abbey Sims, Hogan, and Isabelle Petty combined for 11 singles.
Madison Abell pitched the first 3 innings, allowing 10 hits, 7 runs, and 1 walk. Dani Fairey took over the final 3 innings, recording 1 strikeout and allowing 4 hits and 2 runs.
After creating an 8 run lead over the Panthers, the Lions closed out the game in the 6th inning by way of run rule.
GAME #2
EC recorded 9 runs, 10 hits, 8 RBI's and drew 7 walks. Abbey Sims and Noelle Petty each had a double, while Ally Harris, Lexie Tallent, Caitlin Parks, Sims, and Ryanne White combined for 8 singles. Sims recorded 3 RBI's, Meredith Reese and Parks both had 2 RBI's, and Ally Harris had 1 RBI.
Sloan Hammons pitched all five innings for the Lions, recording 5 strikeouts while allowing 2 hits and 4 walks.
EC closed out the second game of their double-header against the Panthers in the 5th inning after gaining an 8 run lead.
Next up, the Lions will take on Virginia-Wise at the Lander Tournament on Saturday, February 29th.
