GAME #1
The Lions recorded 3 hits, 1 RBI, and drew 2 walks in their 2-1 loss to the Cavaliers. Lexie Tallent batted her 3rd home run of the season. McCall Maret and Isabelle Petty each singled.
Sloan Hammons faced 26 batters while recording 1 strikeout and allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, and 3 walks.
EC's sole run of the game came in the 4th inning when Lexie Tallent homered. The Cavaliers responded with a homer from J. Hoy in the same inning to tie the game 1-1. Maret recorded a hit for the Lions in the 6th inning, but EC was unable to score. In the bottom of the 7th, the Cavaliers had a walk-off hit from C. Chambers to take the game 2-1.
GAME #2
The Lions had 3 runs, 7 hits, 3 RBI's, and drew 4 walks in their 4-3 loss to tournament host Lander University. McCall Maret and Isabelle Petty each had a double. Abbey Sims had 2 singles while Ryanne White, Kaylan Pruitt, and Noelle Petty each had 1 single.
Madison Abell faced 29 batters in 6 innings while on the mound. Abel had 1 strikeout and allowed 10 hits, 4 runs, and no walks.
After trailing 4-0, the Lions had 1 run in the fourth inning. Pruitt would single before Maret advanced her to third with a double. A sac fly from Noelle Petty would bring in Pruitt. LU 4, EC 1.
In the top of the fourth, Maret was walked before stealing 2nd base. Noelle Petty followed with a single to bring Maret home. Lily Shelton then stepped in to pinch run for Petty and was brought home when Isabelle Petty doubled on the next play. Despite getting within 1 run of the Bearcats, the Lions fell 4-3.
Next up, the Lions will continue action tomorrow with another game against Virginia-Wise at 11am before concluding the Bearcat Challenge with Walsh University at 1pm.
