MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team defeated conference opponent Chowan University 76-67 on Saturday night. This win brings the Lions record to 16-7 overall, 13-4 in conference.

The Lions shot 54.7% from the field and 59.1% from beyond the arc. Senior Valeriya Pokrovskaya knocked down 6 three-pointers en route to her career high 22 points. 

The teams exchanged points all throughout the first set with several lead changes. Trailing 29-30, Valeriya Pokrovskaya hit a last minute three-pointer to propel the Lions to a 32-30 lead at halftime.

When returning to the court, the Lions continued to build their lead as they had some of their sharpest shooting of the season. EC never looked back and cruised to a 76-67 victory.
