Women's Tennis Team earns third consecutive win!

Franklin Springs, GA - The Emmanuel College Women's Tennis Team got back to the home courts today in a regional match with Young Harris College.

The doubles play was defined in small details on courts #1 and #2, while EC found little to no problems to close the deal on #3 with Raïch/Castillon getting a quick 6-1 win. Both courts #1 and #2 won on tie breakers, first with the pair formed by Guerrero/Weng on court #1 and then Khmelevskaiai/Ramos on court #2.

After conquering the doubles point, the Lions started the singles play dominating the matches. The first point came from the Junior Kristina Khmelevskaiai on court #6 by 6-4 6-2, followed by the sophomore Alejandra Guerrero with a solid 6-3 6-2 victory. The Junior from Spain, Marta Rozados had to bit more work in her second set, after she saw her opponent get a 5-2 lead, but after getting a bit more consistent during the rallies, Rozados was able to climb back to give EC a fourth point with a 6-1 7-5 win. Selina Donecker on the other hand, did not find a lot of resistance during her match and quickly dispatched her foe by 6-1 6-2. Lastly, the Senior from Barcelona, Spain, Maria Raïch had a difficult task at hands after she dropped the first set. But the EC player did not surrender and in a second set full of ups and downs from both sides, Raïch was the one who emerged victories, grabbing not only the second set, but the final one in tense tie breaker, with the final score of 0-6 7-5 10-6.

This was the third consecutive win for the Lady Lions Tennis Team this season!
