Murfreesboro, NC - The Emmanuel College Women's Tennis traveled to the Chowan University Hawks today for a conference Carolinas match.
Looking for the doubles point, both teams started the match in high gear and with a default on court #3 favoring the Lions, Chowan had to snag both doubles in order to achieve the goal. Emmanuel had to work hard and even after dropping the match on Court #1, the point came in favor of EC by the hands of Khemelevskaia / Ramos, who had to come back from a break down and earn the important win by a tight 7-5.
In Singles, EC had a better road ahead with Zyanya Rogel earning the win by default on court #6.
Selina Donecker continued her successful season today with a quick 6-1 6-2 win on court #5. The Freshman
Alejandra Guerrero remained undefeated in league play today after rallying for a 6-4 6-3 victory on court #2. Elisa Weng, on court #2, worked hard in the first set, which was full of opportunities for both teams, but it was the Lady Lion, who prevailed at the end, before cruising in the second set, finishing the match by 7-6 6-0. Lastly, the Senior from Barcelona, Spain, Maria Raich, went the distance today with a 1-6 6-3 6-3 win.
