Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WILSON, NC - The Emmanuel College Baseball Team continued their weekend series against Barton College with a double-header today. After going down 1-0 in the series, Emmanuel rallied in the 2^nd game of the series, winning the game 3-2 and evening the series at 1-1. Despite their efforts, Barton College won game 3, 10-5, winning the weekend series against Emmanuel. 
 
Jake Denham started the game at pitcher for the Lions. 
 
In the top of the 1^st inning, C. Minnis scored on a wild pitch for Emmanuel, taking a 1-0 lead. 
 
In the top of the 4^th, T. Smith grounded out to second base, sending Jake Manibusan home for a 2-0 lead for Emmanuel. 
 
In the top of the 6^th, Kyle LaCross doubled to left field, sending Guy Anderberg home for a 3-0 lead. 
 
In the bottom of the 7^th, R. McIsaac singled to left field for Barton College, sending D. Scaranda home and cutting Emmanuel's lead to 3-1. Later in the inning, T. Halvorson flied out to centerfield, sending C. Warren home to cut the lead to 2-3. 
 
In the middle of the 6^th inning, Clifford Brown took over on the mound for Denham. Denham finished allowing 8 hits and 2 runs. Brown successfully shut out Barton College to finish the game. The final score of game 2 was 3-2, tying the series at 1-1. 
 
 
Ryan Smith stared game three for Emmanuel on the mound. 
 
In the bottom of the 1^st, C. Warren singled to left field for Barton, sending A. Machado home for a 1-0 lead. R. McIsaac singled to right field, sending D. Scaranda home for a 2-0 lead. E. Landron singled to shortstop, sending C. Warren home for a 3-0 lead. J. Holladay reached on an error, sending R. McIsaac home for a 4-0 field. R. Paniagua singled to centerfield, brining both J. Beebe and E. Landron home for unearned runs. Barton scored 6 runs in the 1^st inning to take an early 6-0 lead over Emmanuel. 
 
In the first inning, Simon Boggie took over at pitcher for Smith. Smith finished the game allowing 7 hits and 6 runs in 1 inning. 
 
In the top of the 5^th, Luke Patty doubled down the right field line, sening Kyle LaCross home to cut Barton's lead to 6-1. 
 
Hunter Parks took over for Boggie at pitcher in the 7^th inning. Boggie finished allowing 2 hits and 0 runs. 
 
In the bottom of the 7^th, C. Warren doubled to right center, sending D. Scaranda home and extending Barton's lead to 7-1. L. Pritchett homered to left field, allowing both R. McIsaac and C. Warren to score. Barton extended their lead to 10-1. 
 
 
In the top of the 8^th, B. Campbell singled to right center, sending Judd Roberts home to cut Barton's lead to 2-10. 
 
Kyle Heuchert took over at pitcher for Emmanuel for Parks. Parks finished the game allowing 2 hits and 4 runs. 
 
In the top of the 9^th, Luke Patty singled to right center, sending Z. Bergstrom home to cut Barton's lead to 10-3. Judd Roberts scored, allowing Tyler Smith to score to cut the lead to 4-10. Yeshua Saint singled, sending Kyle LaCross home to cut Barton's lead to 10-5. Despite Emmanuel's efforts in the 9^th, they lost game 3 in the series 5-10. 
 
Today's games moves Emmanuel's record to 13-22 (5-13 CC). They will continue their season as they travel to Newberry, SC, to compete against Newberry College on April 5^th at 6:00 PM.
