Huntsville, AL – The Emmanuel Lions Cross Country team traveled to Huntsville, AL this week to compete in the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State. University. The Lions competed against several Division I powerhouses including Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia and Georgia Tech. The Lions finished in 44^th place out of 49 teams. 
 
Freshman, Gracie Woods led the way for the Lions in the 5K, with a time of 22:08.51 for a 357^th place finish. MaKayla Jones finished a minute behind her, at 23:21.49. Kearsen Self finished in 394^th place with a time of 23:49.04 and Paola Rubio finished with a time of 23:58.97.
 
The Lions finished with a total of 1369 points.
 
Next up the Lions will compete in the Converse Kick-Off hosted by Converse University on September 21^st at 9AM.
