MARIETTA, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Wrestling team opened up their season yesterday at the Eagle Madness Open hosted by Life University. The Lions wrestled well, with 117 pounder, Karissa Turnwall and 131 pounder, Janida Garcia coming away with first place finishes. 

RESULTS 

1. At 117 lbs., Karissa Turnwall finished the tournament in 1^st place with a 4-0 record on the day. Turnwall won all four matches via tech fall. 
2. At 131 lbs. Janida Garcia finished the tournament in 1^st place with a 3-0 record on the day. She won all of her matches via tech fall. 
3. At 124 lbs. Betty Cherry finished the tournament in 2^nd place going 3-1 on the day. She won two matches by decision and one by fall, losing in the finals 10-7. 
4. In the 138lb. weight class, Gianna Dibenedetto came in 2^nd place, going 3-1 on the day. She won two matches by fall and one by tech fall before losing via fall in the finals. 
5. At 145 lbs. Alexadra Ford finished 3^rd with a record of 4-1 in the tournament. She ended the day with two wins by tech fall and two by decision.
6. At 207, Gemma Templeman finished 3^rd going 4-1 on the tournament. She ended the day with 3 wins by decision and one by fall. 

Next up, the Lions will travel to Clinton, SC to compete in the Blue Hose Challenge hosted by Presbyterian College on November 16 at 9AM.
