NASHVILLE, TN – The Emmanuel Women's Wrestling team traveled to Nashville, TN this weekend to compete in the Gator "Boots" Dual. The Lions went 4-0 on the tournament with wins over Simpson College, University of Mount Union, Ursinus College and Lock Haven College. With the wins, the Lions move to 7-0 on the season. 

 LIONS (25), SIMPSON COLLEGE (21)

In their first dual of the weekend, the Lions faced Simpson College. After Simpson took an early lead, the Lions won four consecutive matches to take the lead. Emmanuel closed out the dual strong with wins at 180 and 207 to earn the 25-21 victory.

• At 117lbs. Karissa Turnwall (Emmanuel) def. Layla Phillips (Simpson) by tech fall, 12-2 (1:51).
• At 124lbs. Kalayah Edwards (Emmanuel) won via fall over Ashley Cannon (Simpson) (2:11). 
• At 131lbs. Janida Garcia (Emmanuel) def. Lily McMahon (Simpson) by fall (5:07).
• At 138lbs. Aalijah Pineda (Emmanuel) def. Paige Gershmel (Simpson) by fall (5:37).
• At 180lbs. Vida Beckel (Emmanuel) def. Jenna Joseph (Simpson) by decision 13-6. 
• At 207lbs. Gemma Templeman (Emmanuel) def. Savannah Sistad (Simpson) by decision 5-1. 

LIONS (31), UNIVERSITY OF MOUNT UNION (17) 

Next, the Lions faced the University of Mount Union. After two forfeit wins for the Lions, Emmanuel picked up two wins at 117 and 124. Mount Union picked up at win at 131, but the Lions closed out the dual earning wins in 3 of the final 5 matches to earn the 31-17 win.

• At 124, Kalayah Edwards (Emmanuel) def. Gabi Gartin (Mount Union) by decision (10-6).
• At 138, Samantha Patton (Emmanuel) def. Addison Lyon (Mount Union) by fall (0:36)
• At 145lbs. Alexandra Ford (Emmanuel) earned a tech fall win (10-0, 2:13) over Ilani Jones-Wallace (Mount Union).
• At 207lbs. Gemma Templeman (Emmanuel) def. Lyndsee Young (Mount Union) by tech fall (12-2, 5:45).

LIONS (31), URSINUS COLLEGE (14)

Next, the Lions competed against Ursinus College. Ursinus took an early lead earning wins in the first two matches. After picking up a forfeit win at 117, the Lions won the next five matches to take the lead. Gemma Templeman closed out the dual with a win at 207 to help the Lions to a 31-14 win.

• At 131 lbs. Janida Garcia (Emmanuel) def. Stacy Bloomfield (Ursinus) by decision (8-4).
• At 138 lbs. Gianna Dibenedetto (Emmanuel) def. Paisley Fox (Ursinus) by tech fall (10-0, 3:52).
• At 145lbs. Alexandra Ford (Emmanuel) def. Chloe Charlesworth (Ursinus) by tech fall (10-0, 4:25).
• At 160lbs. Vida Beckel (Emmanuel) def. Charlotte Bowman (Ursinus) by tech fall (10-0, 4:38).

LIONS (21) LOCK HAVEN (16)

The Lions closed out the day with a dual versus Lock Haven University. The Lions won the first five matches of the dual, with Lock Haven getting on the board with a win at 138. Following a win by the Lions at 145, Lock Haven responded by closing out the dual with three consecutive wins to keep things close, but the Lions earned the 21-16 victory.

• At 124, Kalayah Edwards (Emmanuel) def. Jayleah Pletz (Lock Haven) by decision (5-2).
• At 131 lbs. Janida Garcia (Emmanuel) def. Isabella Devito (Lock Haven) by tech fall (10-0, 3:32).
• At 145 lbs. Alexandra Ford (Emmanuel) def. Marissa Rumsey (Lock Haven) by tech fall (10-0, 5:17).

Next up the Lions will travel to Cedar Falls, IA to compete in the NWCA National Duals on January 9-10, 2026.
