Box Score Dahlonega, GA – The Emmanuel Softball team completed play in the Gold City Classic with a rematch against the University of North Georgia. The Lions jumped out to an early lead, but the Nighthawk scored 10 straight runs to earn a 10-1 win. With the loss, the Lions fall to 1-8 on the season. 
In the first inning, the Lions jumped out to an early lead. 
Ellee Varner walked to start the inning. A groundout advanced Varner to 2
nd and a walk to 
Gabby Buffington put runners on 1
st and 2
nd. 
Jaryn Gibson kept things going with a double to right center to score Varner making it 1-0, Lions.
After a scoreless top of the 2
nd for the Lions, the Nighthawks responded scoring 5 runs on 5 hits and an error to make it 5-1, UNG. 
The Nighthawks kept things going in the bottom of the 3
rd, scoring 4 runs on 2 hits to take a 9-1 lead. 
In the bottom of the 4
th, the Nighthawks added on a run on one hit to make the final score 10-1. 
At the plate,

Abby Rocco each recorded a hit. 
On the mound. 
Reagan Garrett got the start going 1.2 innings. She gave up 5 runs on 4 hits, walking 1 batter. 
Carly Forrester relieved her to face 9 batters. She gave up 4 runs on 2 hits and walked 4 batters. 
Cassidy Jenkins closed out the game for the Lions, going 1.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 1 batter, walking 1. 
The Lions will be back in action on Wednesday at Newberry College, with the first pitch at 2PM.
