MOBILE, AL – The Emmanuel Men's Track & Field team competed in the Bulldog Open hosted by Samford University over the weekend. The Lions performed well, breaking several school and personal records ahead of the Indoor Conference Carolinas Championship next weekend.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior, Cam Scott finished 5th in the 60M with a time of 6.92.
- In the 200m, senior, Marcus Purcell entered the DII rankings (#76) with a PR time of 21.74 to earn a 6thplace finish.
- In the 400m, Nickili Lewis ran a PR time of 49.73 to earn an 8th place finish.
- In the 800m, Demont'e Davis and Robbie Woods both ran a PR, with Davis finishing 19th with a time of 2:05.90 and Woods finishing in 20th with a time of 2:06.06.
- Orian Forrest and Josiah Drake both finished inside of the top 15 in the high jump, with Forrest finishing in 11th (1.84m) and Drake jumping a PR of 1.84 to finish 14th.
- Donavan Wright finished 7th in the long jump with a jump of 6.62m.
- Dontae Jones finished 11th in the triple jump with a jump of 11.65m.
- The Men's 4x400m relay team made up of Marcus Purcell, Jesse Official, Nickili Lewis and Johnny Carter finished 3rd with a time of 3.25.24.
Next up the Lions will travel to Winston-Salem, NC to compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship held at JDL Fast Track on Sunday, February 23.
