CENTRAL, SC – The Emmanuel Men's Track & Field team traveled to Central, SC to take part in the Gotta Run Invite hosted by Southern Wesleyan. The Lions ran fast and jumped well, with freshmen Donavan Wright and Nickili Lewis posting school records and conference best times! 

RESULTS

• In the 400M, Nickili Lewis ran a 47.60 to earn a first-place finish and break a conference best time. The time also ranks him 23^rd nationally in the race.
• In the long jump, Donavan Wright finished 1^st, breaking a school record with a jump of 7.11m. Matthew McKenzie placed 7^th with a jump of 6.28m with Jermaine Williams rounding out the top performers with a jump of 6.20m.
• In the 3000M, JaVareus Brown finished 1^st with a time of 9:51.81.
• In the high jump, Josiah Drake finished 2^nd with a jump of 1.90m. Orian Forrest placed 3^rd in the meet, with Donavan Wright rounding out the top performers with a 5^th place finish.
• In the 200M, Marcus Purcell finished 3^rd with a time of 21.45.
• In the 4x100M relay, the Emmanuel team of Cameron Scott, Marcus Purcell, Nickili Lewis and Jesse Official placed 3^rd with a time of 42.32 and the "B" team of Christian Washington, Harry Williams, Donavan Wright, and Jermaine Williams placed 5^th with a time of 44.09.
• In the 400M Hurdles, Johnny Carter placed 4^th with a time of 57.35.
• In the Javelin, Alex Davis placed 4^th with a throw of 48.55m.
• In the 4x400M relay, the Emmanuel team of Nickili Lewis, Marcus Purcell, Jesse Official and Christian Washington finished 5^th with a time of 3:23.02. 
• In the 5000M, Zaylen Alexander placed 5^th with a time of 16:58.26. 
• In the 100M, Cameron Scott placed 5^th with a time of 10.74. Marcus Purcell (10.76) and Jesse Official (10.82) finished 7^th and 8^th.  
• In the 110M Hurdles, freshman, Lashaun Gibbons placed 9^th with a time of 16.46.
• In the discus, Frank Moore placed 10^th with a throw of 37.55m. 

 
The Lions will be back in action on April 11-12 at the Trojan Relays hosted by the University of Mount Olive.
