Box Score 2 Tigerville, SC – The Emmanuel Softball team traveled to Tigerville, SC today to take on the Trailblazers of North Greenville in conference action. Game one was a pitcher's duel until the top of the 5
th, when
Jaryn Gibson hit a 3-run blast to earn the Lions a 3-0 win. In game two, the Trailblazers jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back, earning an 8-0 win.
With the split, the Lions improve to 20-27 on the season, 13-13 in conference play.
GAME ONE –
It was a pitcher's duel early in game one, with both teams threatening to score bot not getting any runs across.
In the top of the 5
th, the Lions got on the board.
Ellee Varner started things off with a single to the pitcher.
Abby Rocco singled to short to put runners on 1
st and 2
nd and
Jaryn Gibson took full advantage of the opportunity with a 3-run blast to left center to put the Lions ahead 3-0.
That would be all the Lions would need to earn the victory in game one by a score 3-0.
At the plate,
Abby Rocco went 2-3 with a run scored and
Jaryn Gibson had a homerun with 3 RBI's.
In the circle,
Cassidy Jenkins got the start pitching a complete game shutout. She gave up 5 hits and struck out 4 batters.
GAME TWO
The Trailblazers got on the board first in game two with a run on a hit in the bottom of the 1
st to take a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 3
rd the Trailblazers added to their lead, scoring 3 runs on 4 hits to push their lead to 4-0.
North Greenville added 4 runs on 6 hits in the bottom of the 4
th to take an 8-0 lead, which would be the final score.
At the plate,
Ciara Passmore went 1-2.
In the circle,
Carly Forrester got the start, going 2.2 innings. She gave up 4 runs on 6 hits and struck out a batter.
Addison Hendrix came in next, pitching an inning. She gave up 4 runs on 5 hits.
Reagan Garrett closed out the game, facing 3 batters and giving up a hit.
