BIRMINGHAM, AL– The Emmanuel Men's Track & Field team traveled to Birmingham, AL to this weekend compete in the Samford Bulldog Open hosted at the Birmingham CrossPlex. It was a record-breaking day for the Lions at the track, with several Lions earning top times including
Cam Scott who broke the school record in the 60M with a time of 6.88!
RESULTS
- In the 60M, senior, Cameron Scott placed 5th, breaking the Emmanuel School record with a time of 6.88!
- In the 5000M, Kevyn Chavez placed 5th with a time of 16:10.97 with Zaylen Alexander close behind, finishing 6th with a time of 16:18.89.
- In the high jump, Josiah Drake finished 5th with a jump of 1.89m which places him in the top 20 for Conference Carolinas.
- In the 200M, three Lions placed in the top 10, with Marcus Purcell finishing 6th with a time of 22.06, Scott in 8th with a personal best time of 22.17 and Antavious Lawton in 9th with a time of 22.19. These times place each runner in the Top 20 currently in Conference Carolinas.
- In the 3000M, Angel Aviles placed 9th with a time of 8:57.82, which is a top 20 time in Conference Carolinas.
- In the mile, Demont'e Davis ran a personal best, 4:46.66!
Next up, the Lions will compete at the Conference Carolinas Championship held at the JDL Fast Track on February 22-23!
