FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.—The Lion's Baseball team dropped three games to North Greenville this weekend in a home series.
The first game of the weekend was a 13-8 loss.
Derren McGiboney started the game for the Lions and was pinned the loss. Mason Tyler pitched five innings with six strikeouts. Elliott Beard led the Lions offensively with three hits, also scoring twice. Trent Jones, Bo Hardman, Daniel Shealy, Hanon Price and Logan South all collected RBI for the day and Tyler Hoag collected a stolen base.
The Lions rallied in the second game of the series, scoring six runs in the seventh inning, but still fell to the Crusaders of North Greenville 11-7.
Trent Jones recorded three hits for the Lions with one run and two RBI. Hannon Price also picked up two RBI. Riley Sparks took the loss for the game. Alex Bollinger pitched for three innings with three strikeouts.
The final game of the series saw a 9-6 loss for the Lions.
Trent Jones led the Lions with a great day at the plate with three hits and four RBI. Dacen Cash picked up another bag for the season with a stolen base. Caleb Holtzclaw started the game for the Lions, and ended up taking the loss. The pitching staff combined for nine strikeouts for the game.
