CENTRAL, SC—The Lions baseball team won their series against Southern Wesleyan University this weekend.

The Lions lost on Friday night (2-7) before rallying back on Saturday for two wins over the Warriors (5-3, 10-7).

Offensively, the Lions only amounted to five hits. Daniel Shealy accounted for the two RBI. Hunter Barton had the lone double of the game for the Lions, while Jon Floyd, Daniel Shealy, Hannon Price, and Dacen Cash all recorded hits as well. Mason Tyler took the loss for Friday night,throwing five and two thirds of an inning with five strikeouts.

Riley Sparks got the first win for the Lions on Saturday, pitching all seven innings with five strikeouts. Daniel Shealy and Bo Hardman each had three hits. Hardman and Elliott Beard hit homeruns for the Lions, and both recorded two RBI.

Caleb Holtzclaw started game three for the Lions with four innings and two strikeouts. Aaron Westbury got the win for the Lions, throwing three and two thirds of an inning with three strikeouts. Matt Bowen got the save. Bo Hardman hit his second homerun of the day. Hannon Price put in two RBI on three hits and Hunter Barton had two RBI on two hits.

The two wins on Saturday gave the Lions their first series win of the season, and also Lil Bronze Peach points for the Lions.

The Lions travel to Brevard on Tuesday, March 10. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.
