Lions Baseball take one of three from King University

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Bristol, TN - The Emmanuel Baseball team took one of the three games against King University this past weekend.

The Lions took game one on an offensive outburst that racked up 15 runs in the 9 inning competition. Emmanuel had 17 hits in the game, with four of them coming off the bat of freshman Chaise Parker. Parker Runnels also impressed with his first career home run and three RBIs on the day. Trent Jones and Eric Pape would also have three hit performances in the 15-10 victory.

Getting the win for Emmanuel on the mound was senior pitcher Aaron Westbury. He went 5 innings in a strong outing while only allowing two earned runs. He also earned three strikeouts in the game.

The Lions would fall in games two and three of the Conference Carolinas series by scores of 9-2 and 18-4. Brandon Bostick had a season-high three hits in game three of the series including a triple, but it wasn't enough as the offense of King University would prove to be too much for the Lions.

The Lions welcome Erskine College into town this weekend for another three game series, starting on Friday.
