NEWBERRY, Sc. – The Emmanuel College Women's Lacrosse Team traveled to Newberry, Sc to take on Newberry College on February 24th.

Newberry took the first two goals of the game to which the lions answered back with three goals. Newberry then scored three of their own and the scoring went back and forth like this for most of the game.

Newberry edged ahead by two goals going into half time with a score of 8-6, Newberry.

Tara Larson, Megan Shortt, Lara Russell, and Makayla White put points up on the board in the first half.

The lions took the first goal in the second half and then the two teams went back and forth, goal for a goal for the rest of the game.

Because Newberry had the two-goal lead in the first half, they were able to take the game by just two goals with a score of 15-13.

Tara Larson had 6 goals for the lions, Lara Russell had 3, Makayla White had 2, and Megan Shortt and Hanna Hernandez had 1 apiece.

The lions ended the game with 15 ground balls, 16 turnovers, 10 draw controls, and 26 shots. Tiana Machado had 4 saves.  

The Lady Lions will take on Southern Virginia University at Southern Virginia for their next game on February 27th.
