Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Emmanuel College Women's lacrosse team took on Embry Riddle at home on March 22nd.
After a couple back and forth turn overs, Tiana Machado made a save and the lions successfully cleared the ball to their half. A limestone penalty gave Tara Larson a free-position shot, giving them the first goal of the game.
Embry-Riddle and the lions went back and forth for a while with goals from Aleah Marijanich and Megan Shortt but the Eagles gained a stronger lead towards the end of the half with five unanswered goals.
The score going into half time was 10-5, Eagles.
The second half began with two back to back goal for the lions from Tara Larson, assisted by Aleah Marijanich, then Marijanich taking a goal for herself closing the gap to a three-point game.
Embry-Riddle then went on to score eight goals unanswered until Tara Larson made another free position shot. The eagles then scored five more making the final score of the game 23-9, Eagles.
The Lady Lions ended the game with 17 ground balls, 16 turnovers, 29 attempted shots and 12 draw controls. Goalie Tiana Machado had 13 saves.
The Lady Lions will take on the Limestone College Saints at home for their next game on March 30th.
