Lions Drop Final Match of Season to Chowan.

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Emmanuel College Women's lacrosse took on Chowan University at home for their last game of the season on April 20th.

The game started with back and forth possessions until a lion foul gave the Hawks a free-position shot giving them their first goal of the game.

The scoring went back and forth in the first half and the game was tied with a score of 8-8 going into half time.

In the first half, Tara Larson and Megan Shortt had 3 goals apiece, and Lara Russell had 2.

Chowan came out in the second have with a four-goal streak giving them the advantage right off the bat. Emmanuel's Lara Russell scored off a free position shot stopping their run.

The lions only put up 4 goals in the second half to Chowan's 9, making the final score of the game 17-12.

Tara Larson and Lara Russell had 4 goals apiece for the lions, Megan Shortt had 3, and Aleah Marijanich had one.

The Lady Lions ended the game with 10 ground balls, 19 turnovers, 33 attempted shots and 16 draw controls. Tiana Machado had 10 saves.

The Lady Lions are done for the season and will not be playing again until next fall.
