The Lions had 3 runs, 7 hits, 3 RBI's, and drew 3 walks in their win over the Trojans. Dylan Letellier had 2 singles while Demetrius Foster, Justin Henle, Clayton Jones, Brody Campbell, and Jorge Villalabos picked up 1 single each. Letellier, Jones, and Villalabos each had 1 RBI.
Eli Turso got the win for the Lions, facing 26 batters in 7 innings. Turso had 3 strikeouts and allowed 6 hits, 0 runs and only 1 walk. Tyler Mayfield earned the save for the Lions by closing out the last two innings with 3 strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Clayton Jones arrived on first after being walked with 2 outs in the 2nd inning. Brody Campbell followed with a single to right field, advancing Jones to second. Jorge Villalabos would then single to center field before advancing himself to second, Campbell to third, and bringing Jones home. Letellier would notch his first hit of the game with a single to shortstop, bringing Campbell in and boosting the Lions ahead 2-0.
In the bottom of the 3rd, two Lions occupied first and second base after being walked. Jones would then single to left field to bring Henle home.
The Trojans would finally get on the board in the 8th inning with 1 run before the Lions closed out the game, 3-1.
Next up, EC takes on Conference Carolinas opponent North Greenville University on Friday, February 28th on the road.
