Baseball Drops Series to North Greenville

TIGERVILLE, S.C. - Emmanuel baseball dropped three games in their series to top ranked Conference Carolinas opponent North Greenville University on Friday and Saturday.

GAME #1
The Lions fell 13-6 while posting 10 hits, 5 RBI's, and drawing 4 walks. Brody Campbell had 1 double and 1 single while Brandon Taylor, Kyle GauraQuinn Tomasino, Jorge Villalabos, and Dylan Letellier combined for 8 singles. 
Eric Moore pitched the first 5 innings and faced 24 batters. Moore recorded 1 strikeout while allowing 10 hits, 5 runs, and 1 walk. 
EC trailed the entire game, scoring runs in the 5th, 7th, and 8th innings. 
 
GAME #2
Emmanuel recorded 1 run, 5 hits, 1 RBI, and drew 4 walks in their 2-1 loss. Luke Patty had two singles while Gaura, Justin Henle, and Tomasino picked up 1 apiece. 
Jake Denham faced 25 batters in 5 innings of play for the Lions. Denham had 5 strikeouts while allowing 7 hits, 1 run, and 2 walks.
In the top of the third inning, Luke Patty singled through the left side to get on base. Demetrius Foster would advance Patty to second on a fielders choice. A single from Justin Henle would then bring Patty home to give EC the 1-0 lead. The Crusaders would go on to tie up the game with a run in the bottom of the fourth.
The rest of the game remained scoreless and was forced into a tenth inning. Emmanuel was unable to register any hits while the Crusaders scored a run to end the game 2-1.
 
GAME #3
The Lions had 6 hits and drew 2 walks in their 13-0 loss to the Crusaders. Kyle Gaura had 1 double and 1 single, while Justin Henle had 1 double. Luke Patty recorded 2 singles and Brandon Taylor picked up 1.
Four Lions split the mound for EC while recording 1 strikeout and allowing 16 hits, 13 runs, and 6 walks.
 
Next up, Emmanuel will host Coker College on Tuesday, March 3rd at 2pm.
